The Reading Antiquarian Society, a non-profit organization founded in 1916, maintains the Parker Tavern, holds meetings about Reading history and other related subjects, observes inportant town anniversaries, and collects and preserves articles representing life in Reading in earlier times. The Society sponsers exhibits and special events at the Parker Tavern, historical lectures, and provides tours of Parker Tavern for school groups.
All objects in the museum collection are to be preserved and shared by future generations.
